Application Overview
Maricopa County is a national leader in the automation of the recording function within a busy County. They were one of the early adopters of imaging technology installing an image system within the Recording Office in 1989. They have millions of documents on their system available to the public over the web.
They contracted with FNTI through their software vendor Amcad
to add to this library by having an FNTI conversion team set up
onsite at their location and capture 80,000,000 documents within
a 6 month period
Scope of Work
FNTI installed 12 high speed Wicks and Wilson film and fiche scanners
plus 6 paper scanners. The conversion included scanning 35,000,000
frames of film, 25,000,000 frames of fiche and 20,000,000 pages
of paper from Bound Books. In addition we captured a volume of
large format documents utilizing our Book Eye Scanners. All documents
were indexed and a subset of 5,000,000 have been indexed by Grantor/
Grantee.
Results
FNTI is due to complete the project within the 6 months
of scanning commencing.
